Restorative dentistry
It represents one of the main branches of dentistry, which we apply daily with great care in our practice. The goal of restorative dentistry is to preserve the health of the teeth and eliminate all pathological changes affecting them.
As part of the restorative approach, we offer:
Composite fillings
They represent the gold standard in modern restorations. In addition to having excellent aesthetic properties—since a composite filling can be perfectly matched to the color of the tooth—new generations of composites also have outstanding mechanical properties, which is why they have completely replaced amalgam fillings.
At the office of Dr. Nenad Babić, although we perform composite fillings on a daily basis, we approach each one with great care and dedication to ensure that every filling we place is completely unnoticeable and perfectly tailored—both functionally and aesthetically—to your teeth and smile.
The need for such fillings arises in the presence of primary or secondary caries. Primary caries develops on a previously intact tooth as a result of multiple factors, most commonly due to poor oral hygiene. Secondary caries occurs at the junction between an old filling and the tooth, as a consequence of a worn-out or poorly done previous filling and the patient's negligence.
We must emphasize that, in addition to the reasons mentioned, we strongly recommend that patients replace all old amalgam fillings. This is because amalgam fillings contain a significant amount of mercury, and numerous studies have shown that mercury can have harmful effects both locally and systemically. Moreover, their appearance cannot compare to today’s standards of aesthetics in dentistry.
Composite veneers
Composite veneers are a relatively new and increasingly popular solution in the world of dentistry, allowing you to enhance the appearance of your teeth. They are especially popular among young people because the procedure is completely painless, requires no tooth grinding, and it’s worth noting that composite veneers are significantly more affordable than ceramic ones—while still providing a perfect and long-lasting aesthetic result.
Endodontic treatment
We perform endodontic treatment when a carious lesion has progressed and caused inflammation of the tooth nerve (pulpitis), which, if not properly treated, can lead to periapical processes affecting the bone around the tip (apex) of the tooth root. Endodontic treatment is also required in cases of endo-perio lesions, where significant bone loss and defects around the tooth allow easier contamination of the pulp by external bacteria, consequently leading to an inflammatory process.
Such processes can be accompanied by a dramatic clinical presentation, which may include:
- Severe pain that may be localized or radiating
- Presence of swelling
- Tooth sensitivity to pressure (biting) and percussion
- A sensation that the tooth feels “elongated”
In our practice, in addition to the traditional approach to endodontics, we also use a mechanical technique that significantly speeds up the endodontic treatment process and makes it more efficient.
The dental office of Dr. Nenad Babić not only invests in continuous education to expand professional knowledge, but also in the most advanced materials and equipment for dental treatment. This ensures that our daily work is as comfortable as possible for the patient, delivers long-lasting results, and—above all—improves the oral health of all our patients.
